Dumbo Gallery

One of the abandoned warehouses in my neighborhood had a sign outside saying open gallery, I wandered in to discover a really interesting old building with a beautifully lit upper level.

New Museum

I checked out Sanaa's New Museum in Soho last weekend.  The layout of the gallery spaces is very simple and minimal yet effective.  The top level has a great panoramic viewing deck; its a little unsettling when you're out there as the railing is only waist-high panes of glass.

Post-Academic Modeling

The thing I miss most about architecture school is making models.  Most former architecture students might think that sounds pretty crazy,  but modeling is my favorite part of the design process, plus it gets me away from the computer screen.

Here's some pictures of an initial design model I made earlier this year for a small, 8-10 room hotel on Shelter Island, NY.  Shelter Island is located just north of the Hamptons and directly west of Gardiners Bay on the far end of Long Island.
